Our Criteria
The Federalism Policy Trackers are nonpartisan. Items are selected for inclusion based on a number of considerations, including:

Impact​ (is the policy likely to have a significant affect on policy or to affect people's lives directly?)

Media Coverage (has the policy generated attention from a range of sources, including academic analyses?)

Federalism Implications (is the policy likely to affect the relationship between the states and the federal government in some measurable way?)

Litigation (is the policy generating controversy, debate, legislative challenge or litigation?)

User Feedback (we often include items forwarded to us by site members or social media)
